The Swedish Embassy has planned a celebration of Sweden Day in Edinburgh on 8 June. We have now had the details.
In the morning there will be a service with the Swedish church at 11:30-12:30. This will take place in St Martin’s Episcopal Church, 232 Dalry Road, Edinburgh EH11 2JG.
The Embassy will then host the Sweden day at Akva, between 1 pm and 4 pm.
The Ambassador and the Lord Provost will say some words of welcome at 1:30 and then the Swedish Choir in Edinburgh will sing a few songs.
That will be followed by Swedish fika, with jordgubbstårta and kanelbullar, and with a few games going on (tipspromenad, mingelbingo, något för barnen). (The Embassy is trying to find somebody who could make midsommarkransar, for a small cost. Can you?)
Hopefully there will be lots of people and we’ll have a good time celebrating summer! If you would like to attend, please register at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sweden-day-celebration-in-edinburgh-tickets-61578756719
