The Scottish-Swedish Society was founded on April 11th 1981 by Eva and Donald MacDonell-Sanderson to help foster cultural and friendly relations between Scotland and Sweden. Many members then as now, are Swedes with Scottish partners or Scots with an interest in Sweden.
The Society’s main aim is to act as a liaison point for people from both countries and to assist this by organising the big annual Swedish events of Midsommar and Lucia, along with occasional pea soup evenings, Burns and Bellman events and National Dag celebrations. In addition there are very active coffee mornings, a variety of book clubs, mother and toddler meetings and very popular Swedish language lessons.
We’re a very friendly and welcoming group so please join us in helping celebrate our common links. We have a flourishing FaceBook page https://www.facebook.com/
