Claire Craig has written to tell us about a visit to Helensburgh by a choir from Sweden. Here is what she wrote. It sounds most interesting, and well worth a trip down the water.
“I am writing to alert you to a visit to Helensburgh this month by a Swedish choir from Sölleron. They and the Helensburgh Family Singers have been singing together annually in different countries, including our own of course, since 2009. This year we are giving a concert here in Scotland and I thought the Scottish Swedish Society Membership might be interested.
“The concert will take place on Sunday September 16th in St Andrews Kirk (in Helensburgh central square) at 7pm. It will include some Swedish and Scottish songs and a piece, Missa Amicitia, composed by one of our group, Agne Samuelsson. There will also be some instrumental pieces and a Handel organ concerto.
“The Swedish choir will be arriving on Thursday September 13th and staying in Helensburgh until the 17th.
