The Society’s Lucia celebrations will take place this year on Sunday 4 December (the second Sunday in Advent) at Marchmont St Giles’ Church in Edinburgh. The Service and Procession will start at 3:00pm, and be followed by the Fika starting at about 4:00pm. Those taking part in the Procession are asked to arrive at 2:00 pm.
As part of our effort to keep the event safe in this time of Covid, we strongly request all those attending to buy tickets in advance. Children accompanying paying member are free. Any tickets sold at the door will be more expensive (£6 Adult, £3 children, £15 family ticket).
The Swedish Church will sign levnadsintyg after the service and procession.
We greatly appreciate if you can bring homebaking along, especially lussekatter. If you bring it along please hand in to the volunteers in the kitchen when you arrive.
Lucia nominations should be sent to membership@scottishswedish.org by Nov 10th. Please include name, DoB, contact details of the young person. Note nominations need to be 15-18 years old by the end of this year.
There will be a book swap/sale at the Fika so please bring any Swedish books, films, games or other Swedish things you want to swap.
You can book tickets directly on this page using a PayPal account or a card. If you prefer to pay with a cheque, please send it to our Treasurer, Stephen Hampson, at Glenelg, Park Road, Kilmacolm, PA13 4EE, with a note of your email address and the tickets you would like. Tickets bought in advance are non-refundable.
If you are paying on the website by card, rather than PayPal, please note the procedure. You should follow the path for paying by PayPal until you come to the screen that asks you to sign in to your account. Towards the bottom of this screen (you may have to scroll down to see it) is a button for paying by card instead.
We look forward to seeing you at this, the biggest event in the Society’s year.
